f-cell+HFC 2020 – COVID-19 Update from Management

March 19, 2020

Dear f-cell+HFC stakeholders and f-cell+HFC 2020 attendees,

CHFCA and PSA are continuing to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and its potential impact on f-cell+HFC 2020 The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Event in Vancouver on June 8+9, 2020. You can rely on our newsletters to keep you informed – our next update for the event will be on or before April 30th.

Meanwhile, we are preparing a COVID-19 Mitigation Protocol for all our events, including f-cell+HFC 2020. We are following Health Canada’s guidelines for public gatherings. As such, we would like to emphasise that the health and well-being of our conference partners and participants remains of utmost priority to us. Our state-of-the-art venue, the Vancouver Convention Centre, has advised us that they are taking additional precautionary measures to support their high standard of cleanliness:

 implementing enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocols
 scheduling additional housekeeping staff during event days for greater coverage of high-touch areas
 placing additional hand sanitizing stations throughout both buildings

As a reminder, Health Canada recommends that everyone follow proper hygiene to help reduce the risk of infection or spreading infection to others, with the following points:

 wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
 use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available
 cough or sneeze into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand
 dispose of any used tissues ASAP in a lined waste basket and wash your hands afterwards
 avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
 clean high-touch surfaces frequently with regular household cleaners or diluted bleach

As the situation evolves, we will keep you informed on our plan to provide an engaging and inspiring conference, while maintaining everyone’s health and safety. Your support means a great deal to us, to the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell industry, and to your fellow attendees. Any questions regarding this statement can be addressed to [email protected].

Yours truly,

Mark Kirby, President, CHFCA
