The Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association Announces Appointment of Ivette Vera-Perez as new President and CEO

TORONTO – The Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA) today announced that its board of directors has named Ivette Vera-Perez to serve as the organization’s new President and Chief Executive Officer of the CHFCA effective May 16th.

Ms. Vera-Perez has over 15 years of experience in the cleantech and environmental technologies sector. Her expertise spans from business development to site engineering, operations, and financing. She holds a Master of Applied Science from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA from McGill University.

“We are delighted to have Ivette joining the CHFCA as she brings her vast experience and expertise from the cleantech sector to our organization,” says Nicolas Pocard, Chair of the CHFCA. “Ivette will lead our team in supporting our members and working with government and industry stakeholders to contribute to the execution of the Hydrogen Strategy for Canada.”

Before joining the CHFCA, Ms. Vera-Perez was the National Team Lead for Mitacs’s Account Management group and directed a multidisciplinary group of account managers across Canada with the mandate of helping industry secure top talent to advance innovation.  She also previously served as the Manager for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction programs at the Ontario Centres of Innovation, where she managed over $275 million in program funding.

“As a long-time advocate of hydrogen as an energy carrier, I am thrilled to lead the CHFCA in its mission to champion the Canadian hydrogen and fuel cell industries,” says Ms. Vera-Perez. “These are critical times for the hydrogen sector, and we must work collaboratively to expand Canada’s leadership position in this space.”
