VANCOUVER – The CHFCA is delighted to announce Invest Vancouver as an Associate Member.
Invest Vancouver is the Metro Vancouver region’s economic development leadership service representing 21 municipalities, one treaty First Nation, and one electoral area. Invest Vancouver conducts research and policy analysis, fosters collaboration, and attracts strategic investment. These three integrated functions are to position the region for success in a rapidly evolving global economy and realize the vision of a dynamic and resilient regional economy that delivers prosperity for all.
The President of Invest Vancouver, Jacquie Griffiths, spoke about the region’s well-known and acclaimed clean energy and tech sector: “The Metro Vancouver region has been leading the charge on the green economy for decades, and we continue to lower our greenhouse gas emissions while growing our economy at the same time. Even though the region makes up 7% of the Canadian population, we are home to 30% of the country’s cleantech cluster, with particular strengths in hydrogen and fuel cell innovation.
At Invest Vancouver, we understand the need to catalyze innovation and facilitate the growth of the cleantech ecosystem. By encouraging and accelerating change in industries that otherwise see only incremental improvement, Invest Vancouver and its partners create the environment for that work to flourish.”
