Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) is a global green energy company of Fortescue Metals Group Limited that is committed to producing green hydrogen, containing zero carbon, from 100 per cent renewable sources.

In August 2022, Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) engaged the Qalipu and Miawpukek First Nations on the island of Newfoundland, as well as all levels of government to explore potential green hydrogen production and export development on the island portion of the province.  This include would include a hydrogen electrolysis and green ammonia production plant, liquid ammonia marine export terminal, and wind power generation facilities.
